10 Spiritual Warfare Fictional Books that demonstrates how to battle in real life

In the previous post, I shared 10 spiritual warfare books to equip you for spiritual battle. In this post, I will share 10 fictional books that shows you spiritual warfare in action. Books that gives you demonstrations through characters of how to engage the enemy and fight your own battles. A few of the books on this list also have an audio version which you can listen to when you sign up for the trial subscription at Audibles. I will add those links to the books which have audio version as well.

I have compiled a list here of 10 books, two of which are my books.

When I started praying warfare prayers, most of which I did at nights, I started having dreams where the Lord showed me what happens when you engage in such battles. I saw many ways spirits manifest when they are expelled from our bodies and I wrote all those and more into my two books. I hope all these books will teach you scriptures and help you understand how to use them in battle.

Here are 10 Spiritual Warfare Fictional Books that demonstrates how to battle in real life!

Bones of Fire: A Spiritual Warfare Thriller Novel (The Fire Series Book 1) by  Eric M. Hill

Excellent beyond words

I love this book! It is really well written, thought provoking, scary but exhilarating. The characters come off the pages and had me rooting for them (the christians of course). I have gained perspective in some areas and been motive to action in others.
I don’t usually highlight lines in a fictional story but I did in this one. Spiritual warfare and prayer are the tools God gave us, if we don’t use them, we can’t complain about the results. This book reminded me that I need to “watch and pray without ceasing” for our fight is not against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities not found in Heaven.
I love happy endings and in this case, despite some casualties, good prevailed over evil, just as it it should. The fight will continue until the rapture, but for now, God and His angels won this battle, as they will one day, win the war too.”

This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti

“One of the best books I have read on Spiritual Warfare! Even though it is fictional, Peretti opens our eyes to the spiritual battle going on around us as Christians. The way he imagines the battle unfolding is very Biblical and thus makes reading passages like Ephesians 6 come alive. Though the book falls into the science fiction category I wouldn’t say it is to strange or weird. I have read a lot of other Christian fiction books that are farther out there than this one. I would recommend this to every Christian! A Must Read.”

The Prince Warriors by Priscilla Shirer

This series is AMAZING! I bought them first for myself, and loved them! Then I read them aloud to my boys (at the time 6 and 5), and they loved all three and listened on the edge of their seats! I have since bought Book 1 several more times to give as a gift. This is a great adventure trilogy for boys or girls ages 5 or 6 to 14/15. The characters in the story are middle school age, so high school kids may find the characters too childish, but I thoroughly enjoyed it as an adult! It has a bit of a modern day Narnia feel to it, but with fresh new ideas. It is about 4th – 7th grade reading level, and it moves quickly. I definitely recommend.”

On The Edge: A Novel of Spiritual Warfare by Parker Hudson

“I just finished On the Edge. Wow, where do I start! I liked the first part of the book which was dark and suspenseful. Then the rest of the book shows how so many lives affect so many people for good or for bad. This book makes you want to be the good. Its a hard book to put down. Life lessons and God’s answer to our trials and blunders are all in there. The ending was perfect. You won’t be disappointed. I’m still sitting here processing the whole book. It will make you think about your life and what kind of relationship you have with God. And this book will make you crave for more of God! Don’t miss this blessing! Read it!!!

The Path of the Chosen Warriors by Marshalee Patterson

This book shows just how easy it is to be manipulated and fall into the hands of the enemy. The author has done an excellent job in bringing together love, compassion, following God’s calling in a world that is full of Satan. This book will open your eyes to how easy it is to think that you’re living for God while all along you are in fact living for the enemy. It is a real eye-opener with a twist of love and romance. In my opinion it is a action packed thriller with real life situations. Definitely would recommend to all. Cannot wait to see what the author produces next. Hoping for a follow up book!

A Shattered Life Restored by Marshalee Patterson

A contemporary love story with a deep message. Set in France, the story follows a young woman through her difficult journey of grief, into her victorious life as a wife and mother. Meg’s struggle as a young widow shows her faith growing stronger when she begins trusting the Lord for her needs and guidance for the future. She faces tragedy with weapons of faith. Spiritual warfare is a strong theme throughout the story. Battling the darkness using weapons of prayer and the Word brings victory in the lives of the characters. Forgiveness and letting go of bitterness are stressed in different ways. Remembering that we are not alone in our struggles with sin, that God does not abandon His children, is an important lesson here too. The ending is a victorious one with a strong redemptive message.

This would be a good story to share with an adult reader who may be having spiritual or emotional struggles, looking for help to overcome depression and grief.”

Piercing the Darkness by Frank Peretti

Chilling. Gripping. This is true horror. ‘Piercing the Darkness’ exposes and illuminates the source of absolute evil. I pulled an all-nighter on this one. When school teachers in a small town begin teaching a new curriculum to their innocent, moldable students, the Fourth Grade class begins to manifest “spirit guides” — and all Hell breaks loose. Literally.

This is ‘Good Vs. Evil’ at its most fundamental. I’m not going to summarize this story because I’d reveal too many surprise plot twists that unfurl themselves like demon’s wings as the novel progresses. Read it for yourself. If your soul isn’t deeply perturbed by this book, then maybe you don’t have one. Or maybe Someone Else is in control of it. Go on. I dare you to read it.

The Spirit Of Fear: A Spiritual Warfare Suspense Novel (The Demon Strongholds Series Book 1) by Eric Hill

This book is brilliant. Very down to earth and understandable. I grew up with those same demons taunting me well into my 30’s and only when I saw a video on YouTube that Mr Hill had about the ugly demon could I get delivered and healed from it. I would recommend this book to anyone who thinks their ugly and have self hatred and low/no self esteem. What an eye opener. Praise be to God for this book.

The Spirit Of Rejection: A Spiritual Warfare Novel (Demon Strongholds Series Book 2) by Eric Hill

A great book that will change your life

Amazing book. I have cried and cried. I was also completely rejected by my earthly father and the emotional harm was tremendous. This story explains how generational curses affect your life without your knowledge of them. Chapter 20 explains the exact torment thst demons put me through when I was suicidal. God in his mercy saved my life at 38 years old. Now I am 60 and have so much to be thankful for. Please do not stop writing. I love your books, they give insight into how the spiritual ream of angels and demons fight for our souls,…our mind, wills, and emotion.

Life’s Journey our Greatest Test: A Contemporary Christian Novel by: Marshalee Patterson

God is able to heal all your hurts.

Marshalee Patterson has quickly become one of my favorite authors. She stays true to the category of “Christian fiction” as her books revolve around God and his transforming power in the lives of her characters.

This book is quite riveting. I wasn’t able to put it down until I was done! What a read it was. Each character faced a series of trials much like we do today. It reminded me that so many persons go through these and worst and I was encouraged to pause and pray for such persons. The novel focuses on some heavy issues like abuse, rape, spiritual warfare etc. Marshalee expresses each idea clearly and effectively so that one understands the lessons being taught. I was enlightened, educated and blessed by this book.

If you’re able to read about these issues, I’d definitely recommend this book to you.

Save pin for later
